Family Photo Wall

10 Feb

Want a great way to display all those beautiful family photos? How about a Family Photo Wall. It’s a wonderful way to display those precious family memories. Mine is a work in progress…I love the way it looks and I know I will be adding more and more photos until I can’t fit anymore!

But, this doesn’t have to be an expensive project. Gather frames at Thrift Stores and Yard Sales. They don’t even have to be the right color, if you like the size and the shape and the price of course. Grab it, you can paint it later. My frames are all black. Some I painted some were black when I bought them. All of my frames came from my local Thrift Store. I just kept collecting. I always look at the frame section when I go to the Thrift Store! I found this super cute I love You frame at the Dollar Tree. Had to grab that! I even have a photo canvas project that I made on the wall.

I used some of my digital scrapbooking supplies to tie it all together. The I Love You Frame had some digital papers in it and the same papers are mats for a few of my other pictures. I also used the same paper on the Hybrid Canvas that I made. The papers are all in black and cream tones. I love the way it turned out. I even added my cute little felt cameras that I made to the display! I have more pictures I want to add so another trip to the thrift store is due!

I hope this inspires you to make your own Family Photo Wall! It really is a project any one can do. And a perfect way to show off those precious memories.

(I used digital paper by the designer Quirky Twerp called “Fabrications Classics“, you can get them at The Digi Chick.  You can also get a digital version of the Camera Felties in my shop at GingerScraps, “Creations by Julie:)

Time for me to start posting on my blog again!

31 Jan

I have neglected my poor little photography blog. It’s time for me to start posting again so why not start with an I ~Heart~ Faces Challenge! It’s people’s choice for the month of January.

We are supposed to post our Favorite Face Photo we took in Jan. Of course I took like a million photos. Which one to choose! Hmmm…I know just the one :) Travis is obsessed with Batman. He loves to watch the OLD Batman cartoons on Netflix. “Daddy, I want a Batman suit” Travis kept saying. So thanks to a creative Daddy and some black long johns, some football gear and a little felt…we had our Batman. Of course, Mommy had fun taking pictures of this cool little Batman. Just look at that cute little face! What a crime fighter :)

I {heart} Faces..Purple

26 Jul

The theme for this week on IheartFaces is Purple! OMGosh! there are so many fabulous photos. Wow!

A few nights ago on a golf cart ride, I spotted these pretty purple flowers. I’m like “Stop!” Of course my Hubs knows to stop fro me when I see something I want to shoot! Even my little guys know they have to wait for Mommy and her camera! So, here is my “Purple”

The photo mask I used is “Grungy Photo Mask” by, Jessica Sprague.

I have been working on my Edits of the shoot I did for the W Family and their horses. It was my first time doing an equine shoot. Wow, what an experince. You can’t really get a horse to “smile” LOL.  But I got some wonderful shot of these 4 beautiful horses and wonderful family. Here is a little sneek peek. I will post more this week!

Fix it Friday

23 Jul

I really loving these I heart faces challenges. Today is Fix it Friday! What a precious photo they gave us to play with. Two sweet little girls.  See what I did to it…Make sure you look at all the other creative edits the IHeartFaces Fans have done with this photo.

I used the Pioneer Woman “Colorized” Action, Worn Overlay #1 by Kyle M. Designs and Word Art by Bethany. I edit in PSE8.

What a nice way to spend a quiet Fri morning with my cup of tea.  It should be a nice relaxing Friday. There is no football practice today. I think I will catch up on laundry and photo edits! Laundry not so fun..but must be done. Im sure the boys will enjoy a day to relax too. Ty got his gear last night…he is so cute.

Have a wonderful Day! Make memories!
